Happy Thanksgiving

Happy thanksgiving weekend everyone.

Once again Apple picking was on the agenda to start off the weekend.

A nice family outing to another local orchard, only this time we headed over to

Here is a link to the orchard website.

Spring Meadow Orchard

I highly recommend this orchard if you want to go and pick some apples. Their orchards are large, with many different types of apples, plus they have a few farm animals to visit with, a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, and to top it all off, some fresh cider.

This was a great afternoon spent wandering around the orchards and of course we got what we needed to make crumble to take to some Thanksgiving family festivities going on this weekend.

It’s exciting because Erin, Caspian, and I are going to visit with some close family for 3 separate dinners over the next 3 days. Since the start of the COVID pandemic began, we have stuck like so many of you, to a very select few friends and family members that we allow ourselves to see on occasion .

Well this will be no different, accept that there will be a few additional family members my partner hasn’t seen over the past few years and I have yet to meet myself.

It’s going to be a busy weekend for sure, but it’s ok for me, as I am now officially on Parental leave.

Parental leave ? What ever happened to Paternity and Maternity leave? I guess the phrase must have offended someone lol.

Something you and your new little family member may want to consider if not apple picking? And if your in that area? Is the Brockville tunnel.

This is an old railway tunnel built back in 1857 and is now used as a tourist attraction. It’s free to enter and the multitude of lights and sounds (music), make for a stimulating time for a newborn . It’s also a great walk along the tunnel making sure you and the family are getting some exercise. The Tunnel is located along the waterfront trail as well next to the Marina where you can stop and either eat at one of the many restaurants nearby, or simply pack a picnic and set up by the St Lawrence River.
